Ecuador is recognized in Germany as a pioneering destination in
corporate social responsibility and sustainable tourism certification

(Berlin, Germany. 7-Mar-2017).- One of the biggest and most recognized international tourism fairs worldwide, the ITB Berlin 2017, will start tomorrow 8th March, in the German capital. Ecuador will participate in this event and it will be presented as a pioneering destination in the implementation of the TourCert corporate social responsibility certification.

On 8th March at the ITB Berlin, an event of TourCert will take place. TourCert is a German organization specialized in certification and assessment of corporate social responsibility management and sustainable tourism. In this ceremony, the country of the four worlds Ecuador, will be recognized as a pioneering destination in Latin America at the implementation of the aforementioned certification.

62 Ecuadorian tourism companies finished with success the International Certification Program of TourCert in 2016. This means an acknowledgment to a mind shift of taking into consideration quality standards, sustainability and social responsibility, as a tool of competitiveness which is valid for companies as well as for their employees.

To achieve the desired success, through an international cooperation agreement between Ecuador´s Ministry of Tourism and TourCert, 21 group works of technical assistance were created (11 had a duration of 2 days each one; and of one day the other 10), as well as 80 individual technical assistances , and 62 technical assistances for making internal audits.

With this international certification, Ecuador confirms its efforts for remaining as a leading tourism destination, offering quality to generate loyalty among its international visitors who arrive to enjoy Ecuador and its four worlds.
